Bio.: Zou Xiaowei holds a doctorate from the University of New South Wales, Australia. As Distinguished Professor and PhD Supervisor at Chang'an University, he has over two decades of lecturing and research experience in Chinese and foreign universities. Professor Zou has long been focusing on safety, risk, energy conservation, and methodological innovation and practice in engineering management, dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary problem-oriented integration of methodologies and theoretical development. He has served multiple times as conference Chair or academic committee Chair for international academic symposia. Recognized for sustained contributions in research and teaching, he consistently ranked among the top 2% of scientists globally for several consecutive years, and recipient of over 10 awards for excellence in research, teaching, and service.

Abstract: Drawing from the lecturer's new book Research Methodology and Strategy: Theory and Practice, published by Wiley Blackwell, this lecture will discuss various research methodologies, including qualitative research, quantitative research and mixed methods research design, together with technology-enabled experimental research and data-driven research, with theoretical frameworks and case examples. The presentation will also discuss different research paradigms.
